Trip to Bandung

For the first time i’ve ever took a trip with my friends within 2 days. We discussed and chose Bandung as our destination. Just by chance one of us was going too and offered  a place for rest in her grandmother’s house. For 2 days we planned to visit Tangkuban Perahu, rumah sosis and etc. And now i’ll give you a few information about these places.

Tangkuban Perahu  (spelt Tangkuban Parahu in the local sundanese dialect) is a dormant volcano 30 km north of the city of Bandung the provincial capital of west java, Indonesia.  It last erupted in 1959. It is a popular tourist attraction  where tourist can hike or ride to the edge of the crater to view the hot water springs and boiling mud up close, and buy eggs, cooked on the hot surface. In April 2005 the directorate of volcanology and geological hazard mitigation rassed an alert, forbidding visitors from going up the volcano. While the name referring to the local legend of its creation which tell the story about Dayang Sumbi and her son Sangkuriang.

My next stop is rumah sosis ( The House of Sausage ) this is restaurant which the food is mostly sausage and have some playing ground behind the restaurant. You can take your children to play playing fox, archer, bike, and also riding horse. Beside, this place sells a home made  sausage, which is interesting for Indonesian.The house of sausage is an institution in Bandung for both locals and tourist. They don’t taste anything close from the bratwurst you would find in arial German Restaurant, but its fine for a quick snack. You can ask for your sosis in the entrance and they will cook it in front of you, than put it on a stick.  You can also sit down and eat other dishes ( stick, omlette, pasta, and more sausage) for last than Rp. 40.000 .

After those brief informations now according to my opinion about both places, tangkuban perahu is a good place,it has a very historical and a unique story. The view is very scenic and the road there is well maintaned. The air is not so cool and not so hot . Although there were too many local people to sell their stuff and the sulplur smell is very strong, some people might not like it, but it is very amazing sight of an active volcanic crater. I recommend you who like the view from high mountain, or maybe this is the place you should try to go.

I love sausage,therefore when i went to the house of sausage whis is located in Bandung, I feel so glad and so excited. It offered not only sausage actually, it had various sundanes menu too. It is a good place for a chat but if you wish for more, better not. I think it’s not a cozy place and very unattractive if you come just for meal. Maybe if you have a kids it will be suitable. Beside the sausage is not tasty at all but the price was quite pricey.
